Liquid Skull: Abscessive autopsy

08/05/08  ||  Lord K Philipson

I laughed hard when my ripping program told me that this CDR was actually a recording by Lil’ Bow Wow. I didn’t exactly see that coming. I also smiled a little reading “P.S. Don’t shred us too hard! Ha!” handwritten on the note that accompanied the package sent to GD. Well, guys what can I say? It’s not like I’m going to pour up a bath and throw in some oils and shit for you, if you get my point.

Liquid Skull? Isn’t that a reference to Victoria Silvstedt (did you know that one of the suggestions Firefox makes for her last name is “closefisted”, hahaha… I’m not surprised)? Or was that Vacuum Skull? Either way, a crap name it is. And actually, the band is not much better. First of all we are dealt a shit production. Second, the drummer’s quite awful. They list a guy named Kristian (ofcourse) doing them but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is a cheap drum machine actually. You have the cheating-in-the-fast-parts dilemma all over the place. And as if that wasn’t enough, I can’t say that I am very impressed with the songwriting skills either. Or the hideous solos. Or the shitty bass sound. Or the “I want to be Martin van Drunen but can’t” vocals. As you can see, America’s Liquid Skull’s got a long, long way to go if this is what they wanna do with their lives.

Sure, it’s a demo. Sure, I have heard worse actual records, but Liquid Skull just don’t cut it. Their thrash/death with some misplaced more melodic parts is juvenile, simple minded, poorly executed and actually fucken uninteresting on all accounts.

I say get back to us after 5 more demos when you have some more experience and some more knowledge about how to write songs, good arrangements and killer riffs. Until then, you can suck my liquid penis.

I didn’t shred you guys too hard, did I?
